The deer, the squirrels, the rabbits
Are all harvests of the land.
The food which God has given
To the West Virginia man.
Yes we have our gardens,
Our orchards and our patches
But our game has a taste
That no one else matches.
Is it the cool spring water
or red rich fertile soil
That makes the taste so special?
You'd think that we were royal.
Perhaps it just the way it's cooked
That time has handed down.
It makes us want to be at home
When dinner is passed around.
...foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.”
I Timothy 4:3-5 NKJV
