Man’s mind needs to be renewed
In the knowledge of our Savior.
Knowing the truth will set us free
And change our bad behavior.
The transformed mind can approve
The will of God our Savior.
Then we can approach the mercy seat
And obtain from God a favor.

Technically, repentance is a change of mind, not a turning from sin. The Greek word translated “repentance” is metanoia, and the meaning is simply “a change of mind.”
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
