My concerns, my joy, and care
I bring to God in my rocking chair.
A sanctuary I’ve found there
Sitting near God in my rocking chair.
It’s easy to think and easy to share
Leaning on the arms of my rocking chair.
Just to be quiet and commune in prayer
I’m content as can be in my rocking chair.
Free from the world and its sinful snare
I trust in Christ in my rocking chair.
I am rich as a king and with Christ an heir.
I’m abiding with Jesus in my rocking chair.
My body doesn’t feel the wear and tear.
It’s comfortable sitting in my rocking chair.
I have found God has the time to spare
For a gray-haired man in his rocking chair.
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 1:6 NIV
“Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs, I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.”
Isaiah 46:4 NKJV
