Out of bondage, You have bought us
Not to dwell in sin again.
By your Spirit, You will teach us.
We will say yes and amen.
We’ll be strong in your grace
By surrendering to your will.
Humbly we’ll walk before You
Keeping the heart of flesh still.
Our hearts cry Abba, Father.
Your love dispels our fear.
We are yours by adoption.
Your grace draws us near.
“Brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Romans 8:12-15 NKJV
God paid a debt for us that we were unable to pay ourselves.
I am a debtor to God's grace and forgiving mercy but not to His justice. Jesus has fully paid my sin debt on the cross. God continues to cleanse and keep me. I am indebted to his mercy and grace.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
