For the joy set before him
Jesus endured the cross.
Those who would follow him
Must suffer personal loss.
The servants of God will suffer
As sheep led to the slaughter.
They have denied the world
To become a son or daughter.
Their lives are truly hidden.
They come to heaven’s throne.
In the world they have tribulations.
Their peace is in Christ alone.
God is the God of the living.
In him they move and breathe.
Jesus himself has promised,
He will not forsake or leave.
They find their strength in Jesus.
With him they face each day.
He will see them safely through.
On him their burdens lay.
They remember Jeremiah’s life.
As a prophet he was faithful.
By serving God, he gained life.
For this, he was grateful.
God appreciates such service.
He meets his servants in prayer.
Their hearts they give to him alone.
All with him they share.
A perfect body God has prepared
For those who in Christ believe.
At the resurrection he will come.
This blessing they’ll receive.
“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
I Thessalonians 4:15-18 NKJV
